What is happening?

D396 Harts Lane, South Godstone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering
or proceeding in that length of D396 Harts Lane, South Godstone that extends from its junction with D395
Tilburstow Hill Road, to Godstone Footpath Rights of Way route 140b. This Traffic Order is required to
enable McNicholas Construction Services Limited to carry out surveying works, to include trial holes
works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm, within 5 days
of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 February 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required
for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for
emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Access to affected residences and businesses will be maintained at all times by means of road plates
via the alternative route: – Tilburstow Hill Road, Eastbourne Road and Harts Lane.
D1270 Common Road, Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering
or proceeding in that length of D1270 Common Road, Redhill that extends from its junction with A23
Horley Road, to the northern side of its junction with D1270 Earlswood Road. This Traffic Order is required
to enable Sutton and East Surrey Water to carry out water mains replacement and/or connection and/or
maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out in sections between the hours of
8am and 5pm, within 4 months of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that
commences on 27 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures
which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic
signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Access to affected residences and businesses, including access for emergency services to such properties
will be maintained at all times by means of road plates via the alternative route: – Earlswood Road and
Horley Road.
Povey Cross Road (C64) Hookwood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section
14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles
from entering or proceeding in that length of Povey Cross Road (C64) Hookwood as extends from its
junction with (C62) Reigate Road to its junction with (D586) Forge Place. Alternative Route – Povey Cross
Road; A217 Reigate Road; and C62 Reigate Road or this same route in reverse; and (b) suspend “The
Surrey County Council Povey Cross Road (C64) Hookwood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023”
insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. The Order is required to allow
overhead telecoms utility works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Nationwide Platforms and/or MBNL
within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon
as possible over 1 night between the hours of 9pm and 5am within the 12-month period of operation of
the Temporary Order that commences on 27 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed
and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate
when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians,
and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Weald Way (D1442), Caterham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering
or proceeding in that length of Weald Way (D1442), Caterham which extends from its junction with
Harestone Valley Road (D1432) to its junction with Woodland Way (D1442). Alternative Route – War Coppice
Way (D1441), Stanstead Road (C70), Churchill Hill (B2030) and Harestone Valley Road (D1432) or the
same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is
anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12-month period of
operation of this Order which will commence on 26 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be
displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and
residents will be maintained within the closure.
Masons Bridge Road (D355) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from
entering or proceeding in that length of Masons Bridge Road (D355) Redhill which extends from its junction
with Spencer Way to its junction with the access road leading to No.76 Masons Bridge Road. This Order
is required to enable UKPN to carry out utility works and/or electrical works, which is anticipated to be
completed within 1 day, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order
which will commence on 27 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary
closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic
signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency
vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Alternative Route – Masons Bridge Road, Axes Lane, Green Lane, Dayseys Hill, Rookery Hill, Chapel Road,
Weatherhill Road, Smallfield Road, Balcombe Road, Brighton Road, Bonehurst Road, Brighton Road, Horley
Road and Three Arch Road or vice versa.
Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or
proceeding in the entire length of Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill. This Order will be carried out in 2
phases to facilitate mains water replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are
anticipated to be carried out within 9 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm during the 12-month
period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 March 2024. Phase (1) Earlsbrook Road
(D1270) Redhill as extends from its junction with (C222) Hooley Lane to its junction with (D1270) St Johns
Road. Alternative Route: Hooley Lane and St Johns Road, or this route in reverse; Phase (2) Earlsbrook
Road (D1270) Redhill as extends from its junction with (D1270) St Johns Road to its junction with (X68738)
Station Approach East. Alternative Route: St Johns Road and Brambletye Park Road, or this route in reverse.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in
operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for
residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including
the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or
proceeding in the entire length of Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone. Alternative Route: (A25) Oxted Road,
(C72) Flower Lane, (C72) Gangers Hill, or this route in reverse. (N.B Width Restriction 6’6“). This Order is
required to facilitate bridge joint inspection works for, or on behalf of National Highways. These works
are anticipated to be carried out over 6 nights between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 12-month
period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 March 2024. Advanced warning signs
will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles
to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. All other
vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
Salisbury Road (D1068) Banstead
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Loading and Unloading Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading
at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of Salisbury Road (D1068) Banstead
as extends from its junction with (D1068) Buff Avenue to a point in line with the common boundary
between No.09 and No.13 Salisbury Road. This Temporary Order is required to facilitate gas mains
replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks
during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 18 March 2024. This
temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the
relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions
apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to
prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers
control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in
uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled
persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
