ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
(Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) (Amended) Regulations 2017 No. 585)
Fowlea Brook Flood Risk Management Scheme
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on Fowlea Brook in Stoke on Trent] between Old Shelton Road (SJ8764045670) and the Civic Centre (SJ8774145479), a distance of 0.5 kilometres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following: The repair and improvement of the existing channel, the construction of flood walls and a small embankment and the installation of a flood gate.
The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.
The project has prepared a Preliminary Environmental Assessment Report, A Water Framework Directive Assessment, A Landscape and Biodiversity Management Plan and Environmental surveys for protected species have been undertaken. An Environmental Action Plan has been produced to ensure the mitigation measures identified are delivered. Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified above, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
