Grazing on Commons 2024 SeasonAny resident of the City of Cambridge wishing to graze cattle on the Council’s Commons should apply for registration of their animals on forms obtainable from Ashley Read, Asset Development Officer, City Services, Asset Management, Cambridge, CB2 3QJ (Email: ashley.read@cambridge.gov.uk,
Telephone No. 01223 458203) by 1st March 2024. Only attested stock are allowed to graze and the animals must belong to the registered applicant. Only cattle (which must have the required movement licence) are eligible for grazing rights.
Please note: Under new Animal Health/DEFRA rules any common land grazing will need to be linked as an additional holding to your existing holding, not as a grazing link as in previous years. Registration is directly with Animal Health.
The charges for the 2024 season are to be:
Cattle £75 per beast (£48 if grazing 10 or more at one time)
