What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (FOOTPATH 57 (PART), PARISH OF STOTTESDON) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024 

The above named order made on 1st February 2024 by the Shropshire Council (“the Council”) under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will divert approximately 165m of Footpath 57 that boundaries Ribley at grid reference SO6763 8321 running north along the boundary fence before turning NNW across grassland to meet the County Road at SO 6760 8336 onto a line approximately 194m in length from grid reference SO 6758 8335 running in a SSE then westerly direction along the fence line. It then turns SW then south along the edge of the property curtilage to a gate at grid reference SO 6759 8330. The footpath then continues into the adjacent field along the field edge in a SSE direction before turning SE to connect to the existing line of Footpath 57 at grid reference SO 6763 8321. A copy of the order and the order map and an explanatory statement have been placed and may be seen on the Council’s website at https://shropshire.gov.uk/outdoor- partnerships/countryside-access-and-public-rights-of-way/current-public-path- orders/ or obtained free of charge via outdoor.recreation@shropshire.gov.uk Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Shropshire Outdoor Partnerships, Rights of Way Manager, The Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND, or by email to outdoor.recreation@shropshire.gov.uk, not later than 29th February 2024. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
