Public Exhibition – Proposed Solar Farm Development

Vattenfall Wind Power Limited (the ‘Applicant’) is exploring the potential for a solar farm on land at Clifton Marsh Farm, Preston, PR4 0XE, in Lancashire.

Proposals for Clifton Marsh Solar Development is currently in draft form. Community feedback will help shape these proposals before submitting a planning application to Fylde Council. Once a planning application has been submitted, all information will be available on Fylde Council’s planning portal website.

Vattenfall is a leading European energy company and for more than 100 years, has powered industries, supplied energy to people’s homes and modernised the way its customers live through innovation and cooperation. The Applicant has been in the UK since 2008, investing over £3.5 billion in enough wind to power nearly a million British homes. Vattenfall has previously developed and operated a 5 MW solar farm in Pendine, South Wales and is developing two further solar farms that have been consented in England; 22 MW in Leicestershire and 24 MW in Kent. The aim of the Proposed Development is to generate a source of clean renewable energy to mitigate climate change and to provide benefits to the local community.

They focus on the environmental and social aspects of their developments and work together with local and national stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

The Proposed Solar Farm Development is a ground mounted 49.9 megawatt (MW) solar development on 68.7 hectares (ha) of agricultural land.

Vattenfall is holding public exhibitions (details below) as part of its pre-application consultation, which will provide an opportunity to:
Learn more about various aspects of the proposal;
See visualisations of the solar farm from various locations; and
Talk to representatives about the scheme and give feedback on the proposals.
