Cambridgeshire - Multiple Road Closures
What is happening?
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area D (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by The City of Cambridge Area D (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment No.10) Order 1997, Schedule 23 part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lanes, Newmarket Road on the northern side of the carriageway from a point 44 metres northeast of the centreline of Garlic Row to its junction with Wadloes Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate duct installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane and it will come into operation on 17 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 August 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Newmarket Road, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 February and 23 February 2024.
Cow Bridge Road, Swaffham Bulbeck (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-046
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cow Bridge Road, Swaffham Bulbeck as lies between Commercial End and Barge End.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Cow Bridge Road – White Droveway – B1102 – Abbey Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 12 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 12 February and 16 February 2024.
Vicarage Close, Swaffham Bulbeck (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-057
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Vicarage Close, Swaffham Bulbeck as lies between numbers 24 and 26.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 February and 23 February 2024.
Union Lane, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-120
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Union Lane, Cambridge as lies between Pearl Close and the A1309.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1309 – A1134 – High Street – Union Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 17 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 February and 25 February 2024.
Milton Bypass (A10), Milton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) & (TEMPORARY 50MPH & 30MPH SPEED LIMIT)
ORDER 2024-121
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Milton Bypass (A10), Milton as lies between Butt Lane and Car Dyke Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A10 – A142 – A14 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21:00hrs and 05:00hrs (closure); 05:00hrs and 21:00hrs (speed limit) 19 February to 19 The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
Bermuda Terrace, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-122
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Bermuda Terrace, Cambridge as lies between the B1049 and Frenchs Road.
The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 26 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 25 August 2024 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 26 February and 14 April 2024.
Pretoria Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-123
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Pretoria Road, Cambridge as lies between number 36 and Hamilton Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Pretoria Road – Hamilton Road – Kimberley Road – Aylestone Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 February and 8 February 2024.
Ainsworth Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-129
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ainsworth Street, Cambridge as lies between Sleaford Street and Stone Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Ainsworth Street – Hooper Street – Sturton Street – Sleaford Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply, fire hydrant repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 February and 22 February 2024.
Church Lane, Girton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-131
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Church Lane, Girton as lies between Cambridge Road and Lees Way.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Hicks Lane – Cambridge Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 February and 22 February 2024.
Mill Lane, Sawston (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-139
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mill Lane, Sawston as lies between Town Close and Butlers Way.
The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street – Hillside – New Road – Mill Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 21 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 20 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21 February and 23 February 2024.
Huntingdon Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION
OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-141
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Huntingdon Road (A1307), Cambridge as lies between Halifax Road and Benson Street.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993. Schedule 23 – Cycle Lanes Part 2 – Mandatory with flow cycle lanes: Huntingdon Road on its northwest side from a point 50 metres north of its junction with Histon Road to its junction with Halifax Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate fire hydrant repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 13 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 August 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Huntingdon Road (A1307), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 February and 15 February 2024.
Fowlmere Road, Heydon (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-144
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fowlmere Road, Heydon as lies between Heydon Lane and the A505.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Heydon Road, Fowlmere – A505 – B1368 – New Road, Great Chishill – Heydon Road – Chishill Road, Heydon and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 22 February 2024.
Wulfstan Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-150
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Wulfstan Way, Cambridge as lies between Queen Edith Chapel and Wulfstan Court .
The alternative route for vehicles is via Queen Ediths Way – A1134 – Cherry Hinton Road (C235) and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 19 February to 22 February 2024.
Hinton Way, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-151
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hinton Way, Great Shelford as lies between Hills View and The Orchards.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1301 – A1309 – A1134 – A1307 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas pipe installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 12 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 12 February and 16 February 2024.
Priory Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-156
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Priory Street, Cambridge as lies between Westfield Lane and Canterbury Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Westfield Lane – Benson Street – Canterbury Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 26 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 25 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 26 February and 29 February 2024.
Grenville Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-161
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Grenville Road, Cambridge as lies between Charles Street and Coleridge Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Charles Street – Argyle Street – Cockburn Street – Mill Road – Coleridge Road or via Coleridge Road – Mill Road – Hope Street – Argyle Street – Charles Street.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 7 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 6 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 7 February and 9 February 2024.
Mill Hill, Weston Colville (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-165
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mill Hill, Weston Colville as lies between the B1052 and Chapel Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Chapel Road – The Common, West Wratting – High Street – B1052 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 February and 8 February 2024.
Green End, Landbeach (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-171
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Green End, Landbeach as lies between Cottenham Road and Beche Way.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A10 – Waterbeach Road – Green End and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 February 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 February and 16 February 2024.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH DIVISION (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) & (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE) ORDER 2024-160
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle/bus lane, as set out in Schedule 1 below.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.
The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate carriageway maintenance and associated works.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 17 February 2024 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 16 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedules. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place.
