(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section
14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required
for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling and jointing works. The order became
operative from 22 January 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not
be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long
as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between the hours of
9.30am and 3.30pm. Schedule: 1. Chaingate Lane, Iron Acton – from Manor Road to Dyers Lane;
2. Tanhouse Lane, Yate – from North Road to Engine Common Lane Alternative routes – (vice versa):

(Redfield Hill, Oldland Common) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Redfield Hill which
extends from a point 90m southeast of High Street south eastwards for 100m. This order was required
for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new
water connection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 22 January
2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the
whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by
the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Newpit Lane, Golden Valley
Road, Bath Road, A4175 and vice versa.
(Claypit Hill, Chipping Sodbury; Gibbs Lane, Dodington and Sodbury Lane,
Codrington) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has prohibited,
temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour in the lengths of road
specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection
with the provision of road and site safety. The order became operative from 25 January 2024 for a
maximum period of eighteen months. The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of
the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works
which are anticipated to be of 18 months duration. Schedule: Claypit Hill – the entire length; Gibbs
Lane – from Claypit Hill to Sodbury Lane; Sodbury Lane – the entire length.
(France Lane, Hawkesbury Upton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of France Lane which
extends from A46 north westwards for 50m. This order was required for the following reason: in
connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon stop tap repair works on or
adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 23 January 2024 for a maximum period of
eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only
when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are
anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: A46, A4315, B4058, School Road, Wortley
Road, Alderley Road, High Street, France Lane and vice versa.
(Blackhorse Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Blackhorse Road
which extends from Wood Road to Cecil Road. This order was required for the following reason: in
connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or
adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 22 January 2024 for a maximum period of
eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only
when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are
anticipated to be of 4 weeks duration. Alternative route: Britannia Road, Kennard Road, Kingsway
Crescent, Kingsway, Two Mile Hill Road and vice versa.
(Emerson Way – Northbound, Emersons Green)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be
to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of the northbound carriageway of Emerson Way which extends
from a point 140m west of the Rosary Roundabout at the Emerson Way Roundabout generally westwards
for 25m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new telecommunication mast
and cabinet installation works. The order will be operative from 12 February 2024 for a maximum period
of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only
when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated
to be of a 1 night duration, between 10pm and 6am. Alternative route: Emerson Way, A4174,
Westerleigh Road and vice versa.
(Various Roads, Thornbury – Resurfacing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by
Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to
close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to
this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the
public consequent upon resurfacing works. The order will be operative from 12 February 2024 for a maximum
period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but
only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated
to be of 10 nights duration, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
Schedule: 1. High Street – that length which extends from its junction with Castle Court to its junction

(Footpath LYA 59 (part) and LYA 60 off Engine Common Lane, Yate) Public Path
Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2023
On the 10 January 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the
order as confirmed is to divert the length of public footpath running from LYA 59 in the Unitary District of
South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Iron Acton from Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it
meets footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 60 behind The Old Chapel running northwards alongside the field boundary
for 66m to Point B (grid reference 6991 8406) then turning eastwards following the field boundary for
138m to meet the unaffected part of footpath LYA 59 at Point C (grid reference ST 7005 8407) just before
the path crosses the field boundary. Shown by a bold black line marked A – B – C on the order map; and
the length of public footpath LYA 60 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Iron
Acton from Point D (grid reference ST 7007 8391) where it meets Engine Common Lane running northwestwards
for 188m, through a residential garden and then across the field to Point A (grid reference ST
6990 8400) where it meets footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 59 shown by a bold black line marked D – A on the
order map – to a new line running from Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it meets footpath
LIA 46 behind The Old Chapel running along a laid out path within the development site north-eastwards for
7m, then continuing northwards for 44m before curving east north-eastwards for 14m to meet Point E (grid
reference ST 6992 8406) then continuing to follow the site boundary generally eastwards along the laid out
path for a 117m and then turning north eastwards for 15m to meet the unaffected part of LYA 59 at the field
boundary at Point C (grid reference ST 7005 8407). Having a total length of 197m and a width throughout of
3m, narrowing in places to not less than 2m to avoid trees. Shown by bold black dashes marked A – E – C
on the order map; and from Point Y (grid reference ST 7008 8393) where it leaves Engine Common Lane
running north-westwards for 23m on a multi-user path to Point X (grid reference ST 7006 8394) then on
the estate road pavement for 72m before crossing an estate road for 7m and continuing for 45m before
turning westwards for a further 38m alongside the estate road to Point Z (grid reference ST 6991 8398)
where the path turns away from the estate road generally north north-westwards for 13m to Point A (grid
reference ST 6990 8400) where it joins with footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 59 behind The Old Chapel. Having a
total length of 198m and a width of 3m between Point Y and Point X, 3m between Point Z and Point A and

be bought at the price of £6.50. This order comes into force on the date which South Gloucestershire District
Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved
by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not
within the powers of above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made
under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the
High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within
six weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that
Act.
(Bolingbroke Way, Filton) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that on 10 January 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order
under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which
has prohibited any vehicle entering, proceeding or waiting in:- a) that length of Bolingbroke Way, Filton
which extends from its junction with A38 Gloucester Road North in an easterly direction for a distance of
10 metres; and b) that length of Bolingbroke Way, Filton which extends from the roundabout at its
junction with Taurus Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 25 metres. Exemptions are contained
in the order for vehicles to be used for building, industrial or demolition operations; the removal of any
obstruction to traffic; the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the road; the laying, erection,
alteration or repair in, or in land adjacent to the road of any sewer, or of any main, pipe or apparatus for
the supply of gas, water or electricity or any telecommunication apparatus; in the service of a local authority,
for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes in exercise of official duties and for the purpose of gaining
access to premises accessible only from that length of road. A further exemption will be included for buses
and pedal cycles. The order will come into operation on 18 January 2024 and a copy thereof together
with a map and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at
Patchway One Stop Shop, The Patchway Hub, Rodway Road, Patchway and Filton Public Library, Shield
Retail Park, Link Road, Filton, South Gloucestershire during normal opening hours. Any person who
desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not
within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that
any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may
within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Various Foot and Cyclepaths, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition
of Use by Foot Passengers and Pedal Cycles) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 12 January
2022, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 July
2024 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the order has
closed, temporarily, to foot passengers and pedal cycles the lengths of footpath and cycle paths specified
in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the
public consequent upon drainage works and would have expired on 30 January 2024. Schedule: 1. Footpath
LSG/21/10 – the entire length; 2. McDonalds and Homeworld Access Foot and Cyclepath – that length
which extends from LSG/21/10 north westwards for 85m. Alternative Route: Station Road Foot and
Cyclepath, McDonalds and Homeworld Access foot and cyclepath (part unaffected).
(Public Footpath LSG/32 and Public Footpath LWB/12, Winterbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 6 July 2022,
has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 January 2025
or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the order has closed,
temporarily, to foot passengers (1) that length of public footpath LSG/32 which extends from the Hambrook
Lane to public footpath LWB/12 and (2) that length of public footpath LWB/12 which extends from public
footpath LWB/14 to public footpath LSG/32. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of
danger to the public consequent upon development works and would have expired on 22 January 2024.
Alternative Route: Signed temporary route to be provided following boundary of works site generally
eastwards running parallel to Hambrook Lane from the junction of public footpath LWB/14 and Hambrook
Lane for approximately 570m, then running generally southwards to public footpaths LWB/12 and LWB/14
(approximately 200m).

Public Path Diversion Order 2023
On 10 January 2024, South Gloucestershire District Council confirmed the above order made under section
119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath from
Point A (grid reference ST 6860 8428) at its junction with the adopted highway on Wotton Road and
running in a generally east north eastwards through a farm yard and behind buildings for a distance of
197m to public footpath LIA 17 at Point B (grid reference ST 6878 8432) before turning south eastwards
along a farm track for a distance of 200m to Point C (grid reference ST 6892 8417) where it meets the
unaffected part of public footpath LIA18. Shown by a bold black line marked A – B – C on the order map;
and that length of public footpath LIA 17 in the Parish of Iron Acton in the Unitary District of South
Gloucestershire from the said Point B (grid reference ST 6878 8432) where it meets public footpath LIA 18
and running in a north eastwards for a distance of 28m through an overgrown area to Point X before
swinging eastwards and passing through two fields for a further distance of 140m to Point D (grid
reference ST 6894 8432). Shown by a bold black line marked B – X – D on the order map – to a line
running from LIA 18 from Point F (grid reference ST 6862 8404) at public footpath LIA 25 (113m along a
farm track from Wotton Road) running south eastwards along the farm track for a distance of 21m to Point

where any comments can be made online, help with viewing application details is available
at Kingswood, Yate, Patchway & Thornbury One Stop Shops, free internet access is also available at all
South Gloucestershire Libraries.
Written comments (quoting the reference number) may be made to the Director of Environment &
Community Services within 21 days of the notice to Strategic Planning, South Gloucestershire Council,
Department For Environment And Community Services PO Box 1954, Bristol, BS37 0DD. Please note that
the law requires that any comments received on a planning application are made publicly available.
In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission
for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the
written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be
passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
