What is happening?

A Public Notice for the purposes of Section 121 of
The Charities Act 2011

Canal & River Trust acting as Trustee of the Waterways
Infrastructure Trust (charity registration number 1146792-
2) (the Charity) gives notice that the Charity proposes to;
Grant the right to install 2 x 11kv electricity cables within
ducts installed by horizontal directional drill technique
beneath the Lancaster Canal at Swillbrook Bridge, Catforth,
Preston. The location of the cable highlighted in red will
be as shown on the plan to this notice. The plan to
this notice can be viewed on the Charity’s webpage:

notices. Alternatively, a copy of the plan may be requested

in writing. The Trustee of the Charity has been approached
with a request to grant this right over the Charity’s property.
Any representations or comments in relation to the
proposed transaction should be sent for consideration to the
