ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 - KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(CAR PARK TOWN END, GOLCAR,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of this
Notice to make an Order the effect of which will
be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle
to proceed in that length of Car Park Town End,
Golcar from a point outside property no. 113 to a
point outside property no. 117 PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being
used in connection with the works to be carried out
on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
There is no alternative diversionary route available.
Access maintained for residents and Emergency
Service Vehicles only.
It is intended that the closure will operate on Sunday,
28th January 2024 between 08:00 - 17:00 hours only
(although it can remain in force for any period up to
18 months if necessary).
(THOMAS STREET, THORNTON LODGE,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of this
Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be
that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to
proceed in that length of Thomas Street, Thornton
Lodge from a point outside property no. 23 to its
junction with Thorne Road PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being
used in connection with the works to be carried out
on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of
this Notice to make an Order the effect of which
will be that no person shall cause or permit any
vehicle to proceed in that length of Benn Lane,
Longwood from its junction with Grove Street to
its junction with Side Lane PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being
used in connection with the works to be carried out
on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of this
Notice to make an Order the effect of which will
be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle
to proceed in that length of Clough Road/Crimble
Clough Road, Slaithwaite/Bolster Moor from its
junction with Carr Lane to its junction with Bolster
Moor Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition
shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection
with the works to be carried out on or near the
closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access
up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the

(INGFIELD AVENUE, DALTON,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PORHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of this
Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be
that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to
proceed in that length of Ingfield Avenue, Dalton
from a point outside property no. 32 to its junction
with Grand Cross Road PROVIDED THAT such
prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used
in connection with the works to be carried out on
or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via the unaffected length
of Ingfield Avenue, Standiforth Road, Grand Cross
Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Tuesday, 30th January 2024 and remain in force
until 2nd February 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(HEATON MOOR ROAD/TOWN ROAD,
KIRKHEATON, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road
intends not less than seven days from the date of
this Notice to make an Order the effect of which
will be that no person shall cause or permit any
vehicle to proceed in the following lengths of road
in Kirkheaton, Huddersfield:-
Road Closures
Heaton Moor Road/Town Road - from its junction
with Moor Top Road to its junction with Shop Lane
Point Closures
The following roads at their junction with Town
Road:-
Bankfield Lane, New Road, Shop Lane
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via Moor Top Road, Upper
Heaton Lane, Bog Green Lane, Dalton Bank Road,
Nettleton Road, Briggate, Long Lane, Crossley
Lane, School Lane, St Mary’s Lane, Shop Lane and
vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Monday, 29th January 2024 and remain in force
until 9th February 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(PLATT LANE/HUDDERSFIELD NARROW
CANAL TOWPATH, SLAITHWAITE,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) AND
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road/
footpath intends not less than seven days from
the date of this Notice to make an Order the
effect of which will be that no person shall cause
or permit any vehicle/person to proceed in the
following lengths of road/footpath in Slaithwaite,
Huddersfield:-
Road Closure
Platt Lane - from its junction with New Street to its
junction with Bridge Street
Footpath Closure
Huddersfield Narrow Canal Towpath - from its
junction with Platt Lane for approximately 50
metres on both sides of the canal
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road/footpath or to vehicles requiring access up to
the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times for
Platt Lane only.
Alternative routes for vehicles/persons affected by
the closure will be available via:-
Platt Lane - via Bridge Street, Britannia Road, Carr
Lane, New Street, Platt Lane and vice versa;
Huddersfield Narrow Canal Towpath - via the
unaffected length of Huddersfield Narrow Canal
Towpath, through Carr Lane Car Park, New Street,
Platt Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Monday, 29th January 2024 and remain in force
until 8th March 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 6 months if necessary).
(CHANCERY LANE, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Chancery Lane, Huddersfield from
its junction with Westgate to its junction with Cloth
Hall Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition
shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection
with the works to be carried out on or near the
closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access
up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via Westgate, New Street,
Cloth Hall Street.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Saturday, 13th January 2024 and remain in force
until 14th January 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(KING STREET, LINDLEY, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of King Street, Lindley from a point to
side of 49 Acre Street to its junction of Acre Street
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via Acre Street, Wellington
Street, King Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on Sunday,
14th January 2024 between 09:00 - 18:00 hours only
(although it can remain in force for any period up to
18 months if necessary).
(CROSS LANE, SHEPLEY, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Cross Lane, Shepley, Huddersfield
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via the unaffected length of
Cross Lane, Holmfirth Road, Lane Head Road and

It is intended that the closure will commence on

HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that
no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to
proceed in that length cycle lane on Leeds Road,
Deighton from a point outside property 937 to a
point outside property no. 953 PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being
used in connection with the works to be carried out
on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for cyclists affected by the closure
will be available via the adjacent traffic lane.
It is intended that the closure will operate on Sunday,
14th January 2024 only (although it can remain in

PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that
no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to
proceed in that length of Hanson Lane, Lockwood
from a point outside property no. 2 to a point
outside property no. 26 PROVIDED THAT such
prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used
in connection with the works to be carried out on
or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

It is intended that the closure will commence on

(WICKINS LANE, UPPERTHONG,
HOLMFIRTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Wickins Lane, Upperthong from its
junction with Town Gate to its junction with Dean
Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall
not extend to vehicles being used in connection with
the works to be carried out on or near the closed
length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to
the point(s) of the closure.

HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Smithy Hill, Upper Denby from
its junction with Coalpit Lane to its junction with
Denby Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition
shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection
with the works to be carried out on or near the
closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access
up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in the following lengths of road in Meltham,
Holmfirth:-
Road Closure
Huddersfield Road - from its junction with Church
Lane to its junction with Meltham Mills Road
Point Closures
The following lengths of road at their junction with
Huddersfield Road:-
Bent Ley Road/Woodland Walk/Crosland Factory
Lane/Crosland Spring Road
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the

Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth Road, Coach Road,

HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in the following lengths of road in Almondbury,
Huddersfield:-
Road Closure
Westgate - from its junction with Longcroft to its
junction with Fenay Lane
Point Closure
Northgate/Fenay Lane - at the junction of Westgate
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via the following routes:-
Diversion 1 - via Northgate, Somerset Road,
Longley Road, Lowerhouses Lane, Longley Lane,
Kaye Lane and vice versa.
Diversion 2 - via Fenay Lane, Penistone Road,
Southfield Road, Northgate and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Wednesday, 17th January 2024 and remain in force
until 26th January 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(LEEDS ROAD, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
(NO. 2) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of outbound cycle lane on Leeds Road,
Huddersfield from its junction with Unna Way to its
junction with Great Northern Street PROVIDED
THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles
being used in connection with the works to be
carried out on or near the closed length of road or
to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the
closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for cyclists affected by the closure
will be available via the adjacent traffic lane.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that
no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to
proceed in that length of Bill Lane, Wooldale from
its junction with New Mill Road to its junction
with Town End Road PROVIDED THAT such
prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used
in connection with the works to be carried out on
or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via New Mill Road, Bank
Lane, Town End Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Monday, 15th January 2024 and remain in force
until 20th January 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(QUAY STREET/TURNBRIDGE ROAD,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Quay Street/Turnbridge Road,
Huddersfield from a point approximately 20 metres
either side of canal bridge PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being
used in connection with the works to be carried out
on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via the following routes:-
Diversion 1 - via Quay Street, Watergate, Old
Leeds Road, Leeds Road, Southgate, Wakefield
Road, St Andrew’s Road, Turnbridge Road;
Diversion 2 - via Turnbridge Road, St
Andrew’s Road, Gasworks Street, Leeds Road, Old
Leeds Road, Watergate, Quay Street.
It is intended that the closure will operate on
Tuesday, 16th January 2024 between 09:30 - 15:30
hours only (although it can remain in force for any
period up to 18 months if necessary).
(KING STREET/VICTORIA LANE,
HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) AND
(SUSPENSION OF EXISTING ORDER)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in the following lengths of road in Huddersfield as
follows:-
Road Closure
King Street - from its junction with New Street to its
junction with Victoria Lane
Suspension of One Way
Victoria Lane - from its junction with King Street to
its junction with Lockwood’s Yard
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not
extend to vehicles being used in connection with the
works to be carried out on or near the closed length
of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the
point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via Cloth Hall Street,
Market Street, Westgate, Trinity Street, Castlegate,
Market Street, High Street, Ramsden Street, Victoria
Lane.
To facilitate the diversionary route, the existing
One Way Traffic Order on Victoria Lane will be
temporarily suspended for the duration of the
closure.
It is intended that the closure will commence on
Monday, 15th January 2024 and remain in force
until 19th February 2024 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH COL/220/10 &
COL/247/20, MARSDEN, HUDDERSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE)
ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath
has made an Order the effect of which will be that
no person shall proceed in that length of Public
Footpath COL/220/10 & COL/247/20, Marsden
from its junction with Pennine Way to its junction
with Blakely Clough PROVIDED THAT such
prohibition shall not extend to persons carrying out
the proposed works.
Alternative routes for persons affected by the
closure will be available via the footpath east
past Wessenden Lodge, south across Wessenden
Reservoir, then south west towards Blakely Clough
and vice versa.
The closure which came into operation on Friday,
1st September 2023 has been extended to remain in
force for a further period until 29th February 2024
(although it can remain in force for any period up to
6 months if necessary).
(MILL MOOR ROAD, MELTHAM,
HOLMFIRTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council
of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works
proposed to be carried out on or near the road has
made an Order the effect of which will be that no
person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
in that length of Mill Moor Road, Meltham from
its junction with Albion Court to its junction
with Albion Gardens PROVIDED THAT such
prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used
in connection with the works to be carried out on
or near the closed length of road or to vehicles
requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the
closure will be available via the following routes:
Diversion 1 - via Mill Moor Road, Westgate, Station
Street, Market Place, Wessenden Head Road,
Leygards Lane;
Diversion 2 - via Mill Moor Road, Leygards Lane,
Wessenden Head Road, Market Place, Station Street,
Greens End Road.
The closure which came into operation on
Wednesday, 9th August 2023 has been extended to
remain in force for a further period until 28th March
2024 (although it can remain in force for any period
up to 18 months if necessary).
