What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Oldbury Road, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Oldbury Road, West Bromwich between Roway Lane and Oldbury Industrial Estate. A diversion route will be signed via Oldbury Road, Whitehall Road, Tame Road, Horseley Heath, Dudley Port, Sedgley Road East, Dudley Road, Oldbury Ringway, Bromford Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 14/01/2024 (9.30am - 3.30pm). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newhall Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Newhall Street, Tipton between the junctions of Foundry Street (southern side) and Tibbington Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Bloomfield Road, Regent Street, Tibbington Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 15/01/2024 (9:30am - 3:30pm). Purpose – to facilitate access by Severn Trent Water to replace manhole frame and cover.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Chapel Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Chapel Street, Tipton from the junction of Hall Street (southern side) to the dividing line of property Nos.19 and 21. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Sedgley Road West, Bell Street and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 15/01/2024 (8am - 6pm). Purpose – to facilitate access to replace a manhole frame and cover by Severn Trent Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Elbow Street, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Elbow Street, Cradley Heath between the junctions of Halesowen Road and Slater Close (western side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Halesowen Road and Highgate Street. Elbow Street, Cradley Heath from property No.77 to the junction of Slater Close (western side) will be altered from one-way to two-way operation for the duration of the works. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 19/01/2024 effective from 15/01/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to lay water services to new development by South Staffs Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Denbigh Road, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Denbigh Road, Tipton from the junction of Hudson Road (north-western side) to the gable end of property No.17. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Bevan Road, Shaw Road, Morrison Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 24/01/2024 effective from 15/01/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to replace an electrical link box by National Grid Electricity Distribution.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Woods Lane, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road and Footpath Closures) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Woods Lane, Cradley Heath from the junction of Forge Lane to the entrance to Griffin Woodhouse Limited. Access to any affected frontages, including business properties will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Chester Road, Cradley Road and vice-versa. In addition pedestrian access (Woods Lane) will be prohibited within the closed area of the works. A pedestrian diversion route will be signed via Chester Road, Cradley Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 28/01/2024 effective from 20/01/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for railway level crossing works by Network Rail.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Grace Road, Tividale) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Grace Road, Tividale from the junction of Mount Road/Park Road to the gable end of property No.4. A diversion route will be signed via Ashleigh Road, Hilton Road, Mount Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 24/01/2024 effective from 22/01/2024 (24hr). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Brock Road, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Brock Road, Tipton from the junction of Bevan Road to the dividing line of property Nos. 4/6. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A diversion route will be signed via Bevan Road, Johns Lane and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/02/2024 effective from 25/01/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to install a new electrical link box by National Grid Electricity Distribution.
