What is happening?

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN
ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT (Regulation 5 of the
Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage
Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by
SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618
Devon and Cornwall Lower Risk Debris Screens Programme –
Teignbridge and Torbay areas – Occombe Valley Road; Doctors
Road; Willows Aller Brook; Laywell Reservoir Inlet
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out
improvement works across the following sites.
Watercourse: Occombe Valley
3 sites, all located on Occombe Valley Road, Shorton, Paignton.
(NGRs SX88156261, SX88146262, and SX88156262)
Watercourse: Higher Brixham
2 sites, both on Parkham Hill, Brixham, Torbay.
(NGRs SX92335543 and SX91725496)
Watercourse: Aller Brook Watercourse
1 site, located in Shiphay, Torquay, Torbay.
(NGR SX89646641)
The proposed improvement works involve construction works
required to improve the operability of the debris screens in these
locations.
The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works
are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and
does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect
of them. Designs can be obtained by contacting the named project
manager below at the Environment Agency.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely
environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should
do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of
the date of publication of this notice.
