Compulsory Purchase of Land And New Rights In Long Eaton,
Derbyshire
1. Notice is hereby given that the Erewash Borough Council has made the Erewash Borough
Council (Galaxy Row) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 under 226(1)(a) of the Town and
Country Planning Act 1990 and section 13 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous
Provisions) Act 1976. It is about to submit this Order to the Secretary of State for
confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise Erewash Borough Council to
purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of facilitating its
redevelopment.
2. A copy of the Order and of the accompanying map may be seen at the offices of Erewash
Borough Council, Town Hall, Wharncliffe Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5RP and Town
Hall, Derby Road, Long Eaton, Derbyshire, NG10 1HU and may be seen at all reasonable
hours by appointment. To book an appointment please call Brad Musgrove on 0115 9072244

Borough Council’s website www.erewash.gov.uk/economic-development-section/landproperty.
Alternatively, hard copies can be sent by post free of charge upon request by
contacting Brad Musgrove.
3. Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Levelling
Up, Housing and Communities, Planning Casework Unit, 23 Stephenson Street,
Birmingham, B2 4BH, before 12th January 2024 and should state the title of the Order, the
grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land. Please, if possible,
also send a copy of the objection by e-mail to pcu@levellingup.gov.uk in addition to posting.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AND NEW RIGHTS
All interests in 16 Oxford Street Long Eaton Nottingham NG10 1JR having an area of
approximately 587 square meters, 41 Derby Road Long Eaton NG10 1LU having an area of
approximately 789 square meters Derby Road Long Eaton NG10 1LU. It also includes the
creation of new rights over 55, 57 & 59 Derby Road, 49 – 53 Derby Road, 35, 37 & 39
Derby Road, 29 Derby Road, 8 Oxford Street and land and buildings on the north side of
Oxford Street for crane oversailing.
