What is happening?

Walsall Council Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 that Walsall Council proposes, subject to any objections received, to vary the table of fares applicable to Hackney carriages licensed by the council.

 Effect of the proposed variation 

The effect of the proposed variation will be to set the fares and other charges in connection with the hire of Hackney carriages licensed by Walsall Council in accordance with the following table

 A copy of this notice and the current table of fares can be inspected free of charge by appointment only at (Libraries/Town Hall Address)

A copy of this notice will be placed in the Town Hall Notice Board, Lichfield Street, Walsall, WS1 1TP and our website for 14 days starting on 4 December 2023. 

Objections

 Any objections to the proposed variation should be made in writing and sent to the Licensing Authority by email (TPHC@walsall.gov.uk), or by post to Taxi Licensing, Clean & Green Depot, 200 Pelsall Road, Brownhills, Walsall, WS8 7EN, no later than midnight on 17 December 2023. 

Any objections received after this date will not be considered. It is intended that arrangements will be made so that any objections received by the closing date will be considered by the Walsall Council’s Licensing Committee at the first available opportunity. However, in the event that no objections are received by the above date, the variation to the table of fares as specified in this notice shall take effect on either 18 December 2023, if there is one or more objections which are later withdrawn, the date the last objection is withdrawn, whichever is later.
