PEOPLE'S ENERGY SCHEME OF ARRANGEMENT: 6 WEEKS LEFT TO VOTE

On 16 October 2023, the High Court gave People's Energy (Supply) Limited (People's Energy) permission to call a meeting of its creditors to vote on its proposed Scheme of Arrangement (the Scheme).

That creditors' meeting will happen virtually on an online platform at 10.30am on 17 January 2024. Creditors do not need to join the meeting to vote, and they can vote online until 4.00pm on 16 January 2024.

They can also vote during the creditors' meeting if they register to attend it beforehand If implemented, the Scheme would set a deadline for claims against People's Energy (the Claims Submission Deadline), which would likely be around the end of April 2024. After the Claims Submission Deadline, creditors will not be able to make any claims against People's Energy. The Scheme would also introduce a streamlined system for determining claims, meaning that creditors are likely to be paid more quickly, and through a simpler process, than if the Scheme does not go ahead.

Potential creditors have been sent correspondence by email or post from People's Energy informing them of the Scheme and providing a 'Unique ID' to access the creditors' Portal at www.ips-docs.com.
