Blackhurst, Application For A Water Licence
What is happening?
ENVIRONMENT AGENCY Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application to vary a full licence to abstract (take) water Richard and Joanne Blackhurst, trading as R.W. Blackhurst have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006. The application is to vary licence serial number AN/033/0053/036 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Bury Brook, Wistow between National Grid References (NGRs) TL 28168 80821 and TL 28098 80457 between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year. The abstraction of 45,500 cubic metres of water per year is licensed for the purpose of filling a storage reservoir. The variation applied for is to discharge the water from the storage reservoir back into the Bury Brook between NGRs TL 28168 80821 and TL 28098 80457 and to re-abstract it from drains within the Ramsey 1st (Hollow) Internal Drainage Board district and the Ramsey Upwood and Great Raveley Internal Drainage Board district for the purpose of spray irrigation between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.
Re-abstraction volumes will be as follows:
- 140 cubic metres an hour
- 2,240 cubic metres a day
- 41,364 cubic metres a year
