What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Meadow Road (B1046), Great Gransden (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1362
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Meadow Road (B1046), Great Gransden as lies between numbers 43 and 101.
The alternative route for vehicles is via B1046 – A1198 – A428 – B1040 – B1046 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 11 December to 13 December 2023.
Derby Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1364
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Derby Street, Cambridge as lies between number 7 and Merton Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Newnham Croft Street – Grantchester Street – Merton Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relaying of a lead supply pipe and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 11 December and 14 December 2023.
Church End, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1366
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Church End, Cambridge as lies between number 190 and Neale Close .
The alternative route for vehicles is via Rosemary Lane – Coldhams Lane – High Street – Church End and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relaying lead supply pipe and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4 December and 8 December 2023.
High Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1367
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Cambridge as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Gazelle Way – Yarrow Road – Fulbourn Road – High Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 23:00hrs and 08:30hrs 2 December to 3 December 2023.
Ickleton Road, Hinxton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1377
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ickleton Road, Hinxton as lies between High Street and Brookhampton Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via New Road – A1301 – B184 – B1383 – Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford – Ickleton Road, Ickleton – Frogge Street – Church Street (C252) – Brookhampton Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate tree cutting and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 14 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 13 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs 14 December to 15 December 2023.
Church Lane, Gamlingay (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1381
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Church Lane, Gamlingay as lies between Church Street and St Marys.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Stocks Lane – Church Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate church wall repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 11 December and 12 December 2023.
Cambridge Road, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2023-1383
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Cambridge Road, Great Shelford as lies between numbers 90 and 96.
During the period this Order remains in force The County of Cambridgeshire (Cambridge Road and High Green, Great Shelford) (Mandatory with-flow Cycle Lane) Order 1993; Schedule – Lengths of road or sides of road in the District of South Cambridgeshire Parish of Great Shelford Mandatory with-flow Cycle Lane Cambridge Road: Northeast side, from its junction with Shelford Road, Cambridge, south-eastward to a point 83 metres southeast of its junction with Westfield Road, and from a point 268 metres southeast of its junction with Westfield Road, south-eastward to its junction with Davey Crescent, Great Shelford. Southwest side, from its junction with Davey Crescent, Great Shelford, north-westward to a point 268 metres southeast of its junction with Westfield Road, and from a point 83 metres southeast of its junction with Westfield Road, north-westward to its junction with Shelford Road, Cambridge is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pot hole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 June 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Cambridge Road, Great Shelford are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs 11 December to 15 December 2023.
Unwins Lane, Over (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1389
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Unwins Lane, Over as lies between numbers 5 and 9.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Hilton Street – Glover Street – West Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new service connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 18 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 17 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18 December and 22 December 2023.
Mawson Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1394
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mawson Road, Cambridge as lies between number 127 and Lyndewode Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Lyndewode Road – Tenison Road – Wilkin Street – Mawson Road – Glisson Road – Lyndewode Road.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate crane lift and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs on 5 December 2023.
Ramsden Square, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1333
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ramsden Square, Cambridge as lies between number 25 and Kings Hedges Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Kings Hedges Road – Milton Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate foul, surface and water connections and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4 December and 15 December 2023.
Woollards Lane, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1342
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Woollards Lane, Great Shelford as lies between Spinney Drive and the A1301.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Woollards Lane – High Street – A1301 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4 December and 8 December 2023.
Willingham Footpath 6, Willingham (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2023-1349
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Willingham Footpath 6, Willingham as lies between Fen End and Church Street.
The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 June 2024 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4 December and 15 December 2023.
Lode Road, Bottisham (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lode Road, Bottisham as lies between The B1102 and Longmeadow Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via B1102 – Albert Road, Stow-Cum-Quy – A1303 Bell Road, Bottisham – High Street – Lode Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of footpath, tactile crossing points and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 07:30hrs and 18:30hrs 1 December to 15 December 2023.
Brookfield Road, Coton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1359
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Brookfield Road, Coton as lies between number 36 and St Peters Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Silverdale Avenue – Whitwell Way – St Peters Road – Brookfield Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 11 December and 22 December 2023.
Young Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1361
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Young Street, Cambridge as lies between numbers 44 and 48.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pole replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 December 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs on 6 December 2023.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, CAMBRIDGE (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER) & (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2023-1396
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set out in Schedule 1 below.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedules 1, 2 and 3.
The alternative routes are shown in Schedule 1.
The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate gas connection and associated works.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 10 June 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedules. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders.
The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
