SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Norley Lane, Tormarton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of Norley Lane which extends from Lapdown
Lane westwards for 285m. This order is required for the following reason: in
connection with telecommunication installation works. The order will be
operative from 19 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but
only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated
by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between the
hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Norley Lane, Acton Turville
Road, Church Road, High Street, Marshfield Road and vice versa
(Various Roads, Various Wards – Leaf Fall Progamme)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended intends to make an order the effect of which has:- a) closed,
temporarily, to Vehicles the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this
notice; and b) suspended, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South
Gloucestershire Council (Park Road, Staple Hill) (Prohibition of Heavy
Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order
2002 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2
to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles. This order
was required for the following reason: in connection with street cleansing
works. The order became operative from 27 November 2023 for a maximum
period of eighteen months. The restrictions however may not be implemented
for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only
for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a
1 day duration in respect of each location. For the alternative routes, see

(Hatchet Road, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition
of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles
and Equestrians) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily,
to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of
Hatchet Road which extends from Church Road northwards for 30m. This
order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood
of danger to the public consequent upon bridge inspection works on or
adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 28 November
2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may
not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs
are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are
anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between the hours of 9pm and 5am.
Alternative route: Brierly Furlong, Fox Den Road, Great Stoke Way, A4174,
A38, Gipsy Patch Lane, Hatchet Road and vice versa
(Tubbs Bottom and Mays Hill, Coalpit Heath)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot
Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily,
to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road
specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the
following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public
consequent upon new water connection works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 27 November 2023 for a maximum period
of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the
whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so
long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks
duration. Schedule: Tubbs Bottom – from Badminton Road north eastwards
for 130m; Mays Hill – from Tubbs Bottom westwards for 75m. No alternative
route available
(Ayford Lane, Marshfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of Ayford Lane which extends from Ashwicke
Road southwards for 140m. This order is required for the following reason:
in connection with pole replacement works. The order will be operative from
19 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration. Alternative route:
Ayford Lane, St Catherines Lane, Leigh Lane, A46, A420 and vice versa
(Pound Farm Lane, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition
of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily,
to vehicles that length of Pound Farm Lane which extends from Folly Lane
south eastwards for 25m. This order was required for the following reason:
in connection with stop tap repair works. The order became operative from
29 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works
which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. No alternative route available
(Bell Road, Coalpit Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily,
to vehicles that length of Bell Road which extends from Badminton Road
north westwards for 68m. This order was required for the following reason:
in connection with cable installation works. The order became operative from
27 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route:
A432, Beesmoor Road, Ridings Road, Bell Road and vice versa
(Ram Hill, Coalpit Heath) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition
of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of Ram Hill which extends from a point
50m north of Bitterwell Close northwards for 150m. This order is required for
the following reason: in connection with manhole repair works. The order will
be operative from 18 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen
months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the
period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is
necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration.
Alternative route: Ram Hill, Henfield Road and vice versa
(Access Road to St Johns Church, Beckspool Road,
Begbrook Park and Frenchay Hill, Frenchay)
(Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that on 15 November 2023 South Gloucestershire
District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of and
Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended
the effect of which is to: a) prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths
of Access Road leading from Beckspool Road to St Johns Church,
Beckspool Road, Begbrook Park and Frenchay Hill, Frenchay; and
b) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Southern Brooks Area)
(Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2012 as varied,
in so far as it relates to the roads specified in item a) above, the provisions of
which will be consolidated into the new order. Exemptions in the order permit
any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading
goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water
or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil,
water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with
the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge.
The order will come into operation on 23 November 2023 and a copy thereof
together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of
the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected
at Kingswood One Stop Shop, Kingswood Civic Centre, Kingswood and Downend
Public Library, Buckingham Gardens, Downend, South Gloucestershire during
normal opening hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or
of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the
relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on
the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been
complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date
on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Various Roads, Thornbury) (Prohibition and Restriction
of Waiting) (Prohibition of Driving) (Disabled Persons’
Parking Place) (Variation) Order 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that on 15 November 2023 South Gloucestershire
District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32 and
35 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended the effect of which is to: a) permit buses to enter, proceed and wait
in High Street, Thornbury; b) permit vehicles in connection with funeral and
wedding processions to enter, proceed and wait in High Street, Thornbury;
c) move the boundary of the Restricted Parking Zone at the northern end
of High Street, Thornbury; d) prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in the
Restricted Parking Zone (includes Castle Court) and in lengths of
The Plain, The Close and High Street, Thornbury; and e) vary the South
Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Thornbury) (Prohibition and Restriction
of Waiting) Order 2021; the South Gloucestershire Council (High Street,
Thornbury) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2021 and the South Gloucestershire
Council (High Street, Thornbury) (Designated Disabled Persons’ Parking Place)
Order 2021 in favour of the measures specified in items a) to d) above.
N.B. Since advertisement, the decision was made remove all restricted
parking zone restrictions from Soapers Lane. Prohibition of Driving is subject
to standard exemptions with the addition of further exemptions to include
pedal cycles, disabled persons’ vehicles, loading and unloading, access to
limited waiting parking places, for the purpose of gaining access to premises
accessible only from High Street, funeral and wedding processions and buses.
Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting exemptions in the order permit any
vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading
goods; delivering postal packets; maintenance of the road; supply of gas,
water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in
petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in
accordance with the current provisions for vehicles displaying a disabled
person’s badge. The order will come into operation on 23 November 2023
and a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/
revoked and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the
order, may be inspected at Thornbury Public Library, St. Mary Street, Thornbury,
South Gloucestershire, during normal opening hours. Any person who desires
to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the
grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements
of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within

(Footpath LWB17/10, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition
of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire
District Council on 18 May 2022, has been continued in force with the approval
of the Secretary of State for Transport until 29 November 2024 or until such
time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the
order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of footpath
LWB17/10. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger
to the public in consequence upon large scale earth works and would have
