What is happening?

Broughton in Amounderness Church of England Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Lancashire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Broughton in Amounderness Church of England Primary School (Voluntary Aided) Church Lane, Broughton, Preston, Lancashire, PR3
5JB from 1st September 2025.
It is proposed that the school will permanently expand to admit a further 25 additional pupils to each
reception year from 1 st September 2025, through the provision of additional permanent accommodation on the existing school site. This follows the school exceeding its Published Admission Number by 25 places in 2023/24 & 2024/25 via temporary expansion. The expansion would increase the capacity of the primary school gradually from 245 to 420, by increasing the number of pupils admitted to Reception year from 35 to 60.
The current capacity of the school is 245 and the proposed capacity will be 420. The current number of pupils registered at the school is 266 (January 2023). The current admission number for the school is 35 and the proposed permanent admission number will be 60 from September 2025.

Within four weeks from the date of publication of these proposals, any person may object to or make comments on the proposal by completion of the online questionnaire (Have your say(lancashire.gov.uk).
Representations must be received by 5pm on 17th December 2023.
