Millbrook, Mission and Pastoral Measure Meeting
What is happening?
Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011
The Church Commissioners have prepared a draft Pastoral Church Buildings Scheme providing for the church of Holy Trinity, being a chapel of ease in the parish of Freemantle with Millbrook in the diocese of Winchester, to be declared closed for regular public worship and appropriated to use by the Romanian Orthodox Church for Christian worship and for purposes ancillary thereto.
A copy of the draft Scheme may be inspected at the church of Holy Trinity, Millbrook. You may also access the draft Scheme on the Commissioners' website at www.churchofengland.org/consultation or obtain or inspect a copy during normal office hours by applying to the Commissioners. You may make representations either for or against all or any part of the draft Scheme in writing to Rex Andrew, Pastoral Division, Church Commissioners, Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ or, preferably, by email to rex.andrew@churchofengland.org to reach him not later than midnight on 2 January 2024. Those making representations should indicate whether they would like an opportunity to speak to the Committee regarding their representations in the event the Commissioners decide a hearing should be held regarding the case. If you would like to know more about these proposals a public meeting will take place on Wednesday 6 December 2023 between 7pm - 8pm at Holy Trinity church hall, Millbrook, Southampton (doors will be open from 6.30pm). For details of this process see www.ccpastoral.org, phone Rex Andrew on 020 7898 1743 or, preferably, email him.
