Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to
close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians
that length of Bury Lane which extends from London Road to Horsepool Lane.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the
likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon fibre cable installation
works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from
5 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours if
9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Bury Lane (parts unaffected), High
Street, Ham Lane, Rock Road, Naishcombe Hill, High Street and vice versa

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to

that length of Station Road which extends from a point 240m north east of
Shaymoor Lane north eastwards for 75m. This order is required for the
following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public
consequent upon bridge inspection works. The order will be operative from
4 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between the hours
of 9pm and 5am. Alternative route: Station Road (parts unaffected), Bank

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to
close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Shaymoor Lane which extends
from a point 700m north east of Station Road north eastwards for 50m. This
order is required for the following reason: in connection with bridge
inspection works. The order will be operative from 5 December 2023 for
a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be
implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in
position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are
anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between the hours of 9pm and 5am.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of Stock Hill which extends from a point
900m north east of Field Lane eastwards for 50m. This order was required
for the following reason: in connection with new water supply connection
works. The order became operative from 15 November 2023 for a maximum
period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for
the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for
so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days
duration. Alternative route: Stock Hill, Field Lane, B4461, Vattingstone

1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,

length of Berwick Lane which extends from a point 330m north west of
Bowstreet Lane westwards for 50m. This order was required for the following
reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent
upon fire hydrant replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The
order became operative from 14 November 2023 for a maximum period of
eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the
whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so
long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days

Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of North Road which extends from Barn
Owl Way northwards for 20m. This order was required for the following
reason: in connection with new water service connection works. The order
became operative from 14 November 2023 for a maximum period of
eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the
whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so
long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians
that length of Station Road which extends from Horsford Road generally
southwards for 190m. This order was required for the following reason:
in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon
telecommunication installation works on or adjacent to the highway. The
order became operative from 13 November 2023 for a maximum period
of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the
whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so
long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that

for 270m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection
with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement
works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from
13 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure

traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours

Brooks Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order
2012, as varied, in so far as it relates to ARLINGHAM WAY, BAY TREE
CLOSE, CRANBOURNE ROAD, EAGLE DRIVE, ELMORE ROAD, EPNEY
CLOSE, FALCON DRIVE, HAWTHORN CLOSE, KESTREL CLOSE, LEE

unchanged into the new order. N.B. Since advertisement, the decision was
made to remove the extents of no waiting at any time restrictions outside
No.62 to 66 Bradley Road, reduce the extents of no waiting at any time
between No.59 and 67 Bradley Road, and remove the extents of no waiting
restrictions outside No.50 to 54 Durban Road. Exemptions in the order
permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading
or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply
of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties;
taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in
accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled
person’s badge. The order will come into operation on 9 November 2023 and
a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked
and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may
be inspected at Patchway One Stop Shop, The Patchway Hub, Rodway Road,
Patchway during normal opening hours. Any person who desires to question
the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that
it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act
has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks
after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for
this purpose.

(Footpath LSG 32 (Part) Off Hambrook Lane, Stoke Gifford)
Public Path Diversion Order 2023
The above order was made on 1 November 2023. The effect of the order will
be to divert that length of public footpath LSG 32 in the Unitary District of
South Gloucestershire in the Parishes of Winterbourne and Stoke Gifford
starting in Winterbourne Parish at Point A (grid reference ST 6319 7945),
25m west of Hambrook Lane and running generally south westwards on the
south side of the field boundary for 266m to Point X (grid reference ST 6297
7931). Here it turns generally westwards across the field boundary and
Parish boundary into Stoke Gifford Parish and continues on the north side of
the field boundary for 78m to Point E (grid reference ST 6290 7929). Shown
by a bold black line marked A – X – E on the order map – to a new line
running from Point A (grid reference ST 6319 7945) running generally south
westwards for 69m along a new 2m wide laid out path to Point B (grid
reference ST 6313 7942) where it intersects with footpath LWB 14 then
continuing along the laid out path for 157m south westwards until it meets
and crosses the new estate road for 10m between Point C (grid reference
ST 6300 7933) and Point D (grid reference ST 6299 7932) before
continuing west south westwards for 84m crossing a field boundary and

Farm, Iron Acton) Public Path Diversion Order 2023
The above order, made on 1 November 2023, under section 119 of the
Highways Act 1980, will divert that length of public footpath LIA 18 in the
Parish of Iron Acton in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire from
Point A (grid reference ST 6860 8428) at its junction with the adopted
highway on Wotton Road and running generally east north eastwards through
a farm yard and behind buildings for 197m to its junction with public footpath
LIA 17 at Point B (grid reference ST 6878 8432) before turning south
eastwards along a farm track for 200m to Point C (grid reference ST 6892
8417) where it meets the unaffected part of public footpath LIA18. Shown by
a bold black line marked A – B – C on the order map; and that length of
public footpath LIA 17 in the Parish of Iron Acton in the Unitary District of

signs placed at that location; and b) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council

maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance

The orders will come into operation on 9 November 2023 and a copy thereof
together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of
the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the orders, may be inspected
at Thornbury Public Library, St. Mary Street, Thornbury during normal opening
hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision
contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that
any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in
relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order

Order 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that on 1 November 2023 South Gloucestershire
District Council made an order under sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84(1) and (2)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is
to prohibit the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding 20 miles per
hour in Chapel Lane, Old Sodbury. The order will come into operation on
9 November 2023 and a copy thereof together with a map and a copy of
the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected
at Yate One Stop Shop (next to the Leisure Centre), Kennedy Way, Yate,
during normal opening hours.

(Temporary Prohibition of use by Foot Passengers)
Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire
District Council on 11 November 2020, has been continued in force with
the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 November 2024
or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths
of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required
in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent
upon construction works and would have expired on 22 November 2023.
Schedule: 1. LWB14 – which extends from LWB12 north westwards for
452m 2. LWB14 – which extends from Hambrook Lane to LSG32 3. LSG32 –
which extends from a point 75m south west of LWB14 south westwards for
175m Alternative Route: Signed temporary route to be provided following
boundary of works site generally eastwards running parallel to Hambrook
Lane from the junction of public footpath LWB/14 and Hambrook Lane for
approximately 570m, then running generally southwards to the junction of
public footpaths LWB/12 and LWB/14 (approximately 200m).
(Station Road, Little Stoke) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and
Equestrians) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in
pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to
close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians
that length of Station Road which extends from Gipsy Patch Lane to Clay
Lane. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the
likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge sign installation
works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from
4 December 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure
however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when
traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the
works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route:
