Harborough and Lutterworth - Variation to Parking Charges Temporary Christmas

HARBOROUGH DISTRICT COUNCIL
NOTICE OF VARIATION
THE DISTRICT OF HARBOROUGH
(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2017

The Council hereby gives NOTICE in exercise of its powers under Sections 35(1), 35(3) and 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 25 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 that it is to temporarily introduce a four hour free period in short stay car parks and all day in long stay car parks for “Pay and Display” off-street parking in Schedule 1 of the District of Harborough (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017 (“the Variation”).
The Variation will apply to the car parks listed in the table below and will be in effect on 2nd December 2023, 9th December 2023, 16th December 2023 and 23rd December 2023.
The above Variation to charges will take effect on 2nd December 2023.

a) Short stay car parks will be limited to a maximum stay of 4 hours
b) Vehicles are required to have a valid pay and display ticket displayed or have a valid parking session in force with the pay by phone provider
c) Vehicles will be allowed to park free of charge in short stay car parks for a maximum period of 4 hours
d) Vehicles will only be allowed one free period per day
e) Long stay and Lutterworth car parks will be free all day
f) Vehicles displaying Blue Badges are limited to a maximum stay of 4 hours in short stay car parks
g) Suspension of the 30 minute “pop in space” bays in all car parks.
h) Restrictions for use and penalties for noncompliance with parking provisions remain the same as detailed within the Order.
In all other respects the provisions of the current District of Harborough (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017 will remain in force.

Pay and Display Car Parks – Charging Hours 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday (excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays) unless otherwise stated.
