What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Dudley Road West, Tividale) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Dudley Road West, Tividale between Redwood Drive and Groveland Road. A diversion route will be signed via Tividale Road, New Birmingham Road, Churchbridge, Oldbury Ringway, Dudley Road, Dudley Road East and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 18/07/2023 (09.30hrs - 15.30hrs only). Purpose – repair of a defective manhole cover and frame by Customer Solutions Plus for Severn Trent Water. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Victoria Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Victoria Street, West Bromwich between the junctions of High Street and Edward Street (north-east side of junction). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A diversion route (south-easterly direction) will be signed via Lodge Road, Izons Road, Oak Road and Price Street. A second diversion route (north-westerly direction) will be signed via Lombard Street West, Edward Street, Lodge Road, Izons Road, Oak Road and Price Street. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 04/08/2023 effective from 17/07/2023 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to complete planned service works by National Grid. 

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Houghton Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Houghton Street, West Bromwich from the junction of Spon Lane South to the junction of Hall Street South on two separate site visits (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A diversion route (northerly direction) will be signed via Spon Lane South, Kenrick Way (eastbound), Telford Way roundabout, Kenrick Way (westbound) and Hall Street South. A further diversion route (southerly direction) will be signed via Hall Street South, Kenrick Way and Spon Lane. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 21/07/2023 effective from 19/07/2023 (9pm - 6am each evening/early morning). On the second visit the work is expected to be completed by 26/07/2023 effective from 24/07/2023 (9pm - 6am each evening/early morning). Purpose – to facilitate access to complete concrete repairs to the underside of M5 carriageway by National Highways. 

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Fountain Lane, Oldbury) (Temporary No Waiting/ Loading Restriction) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting or loading along the following lengths of Fountain Lane, Oldbury:-

 No waiting or loading at any time at:

 1) Fountain Lane, Oldbury – north side from a point 9.5 metres north-west of its junction with Bromford Road to the extended boundary between Nos. 45 & 47 Fountain Lane.

 2) Fountain Lane, Oldbury – south side from a point 7.8 metres north-west of its junction with Bromford Road to the extended boundary between Nos. 45 & 47 Fountain Lane. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work necessitating the restriction is expected to take until 16/01/2025 from 17/07/2023.
