What is happening?

FELIXSTOWE FERRY COMMON Urban District of Felixstowe Town of Felixstowe Ferry County of Suffolk

Fisher German on behalf of Eastern Power Networks (EPN) has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under Section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Felixstowe Ferry Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The proposed works are: The removal of existing overhead electricity lines and wooden poles, and installation of new underground cables on Felixstowe Ferry Common, extending to approximately 515m.

The fencing will be erected around sections of the cable route that are to be left excavated and open for short periods of time. No more than 100m of fencing will be onsite at any one time. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Felixstowe Library, Crescent road, Town Centre, Felixstowe IP11 7BY between hours/days as shown below, until Friday 30th June 2023.
