INFORMATION FOR COUNCIL TAX PAYERS
The 2023/2024 Council Tax bills will be issued in March 2023. Payment may now be made by twelve equal monthly instalments from 1st April to 1st March inclusive (please contact the Council if you wish to pay by twelve instalments). Alternatively, settlement may be made yearly, half yearly or quarterly in advance. Instalment due dates are notified on the bills.
Single people and owners of some unoccupied properties can apply for a discount. People on low incomes or with disabilities may not have to pay the full amount.
It is possible to appeal to the Valuation Office Agency against a banding assessment. Payment must be made on the existing bill until any outstanding appeal or other application for relief is allowed.
Details of how to pay, how to appeal and how to claim a reduction are available on the Council’s website at www.adur-worthing.gov.uk. For further information, please write to the Revenues & Benefits Service at Portland House, 44 Richmond Road. Alternatively, telephone 01903 221061 – but please note that the phone lines are likely to be very busy during March and April.
