Lanarkshire - Planning Application For Installation Of 5 Wind Turbines
What is happening?
HAWKWOOD WINDFARM
Wilson Renewables are proposing to submit a planning application to South Lanarkshire Council for the installation of 5 wind turbines with maximum tip heights of 200m and each with a generating capacity of 6.8MW.
The proposed windfarm will be located on land to the south and eastern sides of Hawkwood Hill, ML10 6GX, South Lanarkshire, approximately 6.1 km south-west of Strathaven and 12 km east of Darvel.
Wilson Renewables are holding a second public exhibition event in relation to the Scheme.
The purpose of this event is primarily to feedback to the public as regards to the views gathered during the initial pre-application consultation and the first public exhibition, and how their comments have influenced the design iteration of the Scheme. Notwithstanding the above, professional and expert consultants will be on hand at the exhibition to answer any further questions. Additional comment cards will also be made available for members of the public or interested stakeholders/third parties to provide written comments to the applicant and the development team, in order to feed into further design iterations.
The exhibition will be held on: Wednesday 1st March 2023 at Strathaven Hotel, Hamilton Rd, Strathaven, ML10 6SZ.
The exhibition will be open between 14:00 and 19:00, and will be undertaken in a drop-in session format.
Please note: the exhibition has been organised to coincide with the second exhibition for a separate windfarm scheme (named Bankend Rig III Windfarm) which will also be ongoing in the same location and on the same dates.

All further comments / feedback on the proposals should be received no later than Wednesday 22nd March 2023.
Please note that comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the Planning Authority.
There will be a further opportunity to make formal representation to the Planning Authority following formal submission of the application.
