What is proposed?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) AND 14(7)
PARTS OF HOWARD STREET AND
PART OF FREDERICK STREET ROTHERHAM TOWN CENTRE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE – WAY ORDERS)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from:-

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Howard Street
between its junction with Frederick Street and its junction with Effingham
Street from Monday 17th. October 2022 until Friday 28th. April 2023.

There is no alternative route, the road is a cul de sac.

2. Temporarily suspend part of the Rotherham Borough Council (Various Roads, Rotherham) (Town Centre movement Restrictions, consolidation Order) Order 2014 to allow two way traffic along Howard Street from its junction with Effingham Street for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction from Monday 17th. October 2022 until Friday 28th. April 2023 to allow access for construction vehicles only.

3. Temporarily suspend part of the Rotherham Borough Council (Various Roads, Rotherham) (Town Centre movement Restrictions, consolidation Order) Order 2014 to allow two way traffic along Frederick Street between its
junction with Howard Street and Effingham Square from Monday 17th. October 2022 until Friday 28th. April 2023.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Public realm works).
