Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is inviting suppliers to submit
Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the operation of the Council owned café
facility at Down County Museum.
Café Location: Down County Museum, The Mall, Downpatrick, BT30 6AH
Key Details:
The café has stunning views overlooking the River Quoile and Down
Cathedral, has a max capacity for 60 people and is located near Down
Cathedral, Downpatrick Courthouse, the St Patrick Centre and Down
Arts Centre.
The café will serve a diverse customer base, including visitors of all ages
from all over the world and Council staff. It must provide nutritious,
wholesome food and drink options in a modern and welcoming
environment. The appointed operator will manage all aspects of the café,
including staffing, equipment, insurances and day-to-day operations and
must align with the Council’s ethos while adhering to relevant legislation
and best practices.
The café must operate during the Museum’s opening hours and focus
on offering a variety of light meals, snacks, and refreshments, with an
emphasis on healthy eating options.
Submission Requirements:
EOIs will only be accepted on the Council’s official EOI form. Interested
parties are encouraged to visit the Museum to view the café facilities, by
appointment only from week commencing Monday 20 April 2026.
