What is happening?

LAND REQUIRED FOR NEW CEMETERY
– EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST SOUGHT

Ards and North Down Borough Council requires a new Cemetery site
to meet the need for burial spaces within the Borough. The existing
municipal cemetery provision is reaching maximum capacity.
The Council is seeking expressions of interest from landowners who,
individually or jointly, can offer approximately 14 hectares/34 acres of
land as a suitable location for a new cemetery.
The site will be expected to meet certain criteria including, centrality -
proximity to main centres of population; accessibility – by public
transport; suitability – ground conditions; and topography.
Expressions of Interest can be forwarded to

ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk or by post, marked ‘CONFIDENTIAL -
CL – EOI’ to Compliance (Lands), City Hall, The Castle, Bangor,
BT20 4BT, by 30th September 2025, giving details of the land, i.e.,
Folio Number(s); the area of land on offer, the name(s) of the
registered landowner(s); together with contact details to include name,
postal address, email address and telephone number.
