What is proposed?
LICENSING ACT 2003 NOTICE OF APPLICATION
TO VARY A PREMISES LICENCE UNDER SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given that on the 26th August 2026 Cineworld Holdings Limited applied to Basildon Borough Council for a variation of the Premises Licence in respect of premises Cineworld Cinema, Festival Leisure Park, Basildon SS14 3DG.
The proposed variation is;-
1. To extend the hours for opening and the showing of films to 24 hours a day
2. To extend the hours for late night refreshment to 2300 - 0500 every day to delete conditions
NOTE – this application does not seek to extend the hours for alcohol sales or any other licensable activity permitted by the licence except the showing of films and late night refreshment.
Any representations by a responsible authority or any other person regarding this application must be received in writing. Representations should be sent to: - The Licensing Authority Basildon Borough Council The Basildon Centre St Martin’s Square Basildon Essex SS14 1DL or by email to licensing@basildon.gov.uk no later than 23rd September 2026 stating the grounds for representations.
The register of Basildon Borough Council the record of the application may be inspected at the Council’s office, address given above, by appointment between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays).
It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. The fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is unlimited.
