Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water
Vinci Building Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the area defined by National Grid References SD 33588 17815, SD 33648 17782, SD 33614 17731 and SD 33557 17766 at MLEC Southport and to transfer it to a Marine Lake at National Grid Reference SD 33562 17800 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:
• 126 cubic metres an hour • 3,024 cubic metres a day
• 544,320 cubic metres a year • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

Abstraction will take place for approximately 22 weeks from the point of issue.

Dewatering is required to ensure a safe working environment during the construction of a basement for a new conference and exhibition centre.
