Application For A Premises Licence

Notice is given that Rocca Galifi applied to Hackney Council for a Premises Licence at Sand Old Street Ltd - 205-207 City Road, London, EC1V 1JN. In order that the following Licensable Activities can take place: We are a small independent coffee shop in old street with approximately 20 customer seats, serving specialty coffee, pastries and light food. As part of our growth, we are applying to introduce a curated selection of alcoholic beverages from 12:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our proposed offer will include a small selection of wines, prosecco and specialty cocktails, including matcha spritzes and espresso martinis. The premises will remain a cafe-led business, with alcohol ancillary to our main offer. We do not intend to operate as a bar or late-night venue. Alcohol sales will be managed responsibly by trained staff in support of the licensing objectives, ensuring a safe, welcoming and community-focused environment.

Details are also available on-line at: www.hackney.gov.uk/licensing. Any representations against this application must be made in writing and received by the Licensing Service at the above address, by no later than 27/08/2026, the Residents and businesses in the vicinity of the premises, or their representatives, may make representations on Licensing objectives grounds only, i.e. the prevention of crime and disorder, the prevention of public nuisance, public safety and the protection of children from harm. Copies of all representations will be sent to the applicant. It is an offence, liable on conviction to a fine up to £5000 for an applicant to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with the application.
