Notice of application to vary a transfer licence to abstract (take) water
Wates Construction Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number
NW/069/0016/008 to abstract water from Underground strata comprising of Glacial Till at Hindley, Wigan for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to an unnamed drain at National Grid References (NGRs) SD 62036 02794, SD 62066 02761 and SD 61908 02421.
The variation applied for is: to increase the area of abstraction to the following NGRs SD 61574 02952, SD 62127 02905, SD 62246 02389 and SD 61686 02368. The instantaneous rate of abstraction for the purpose of dewatering will increase to:
• 35 litres per second
• 126 cubic metres per hour
• 3,024 cubic metres per day
• 1,103,760 cubic metres per year.
