APPLICATION TO VARY PREMISES LICENCE

Notice is hereby given that Hawthorn Leisure Limited has applied in respect of The George, 36 Newland Street, Witham, CM8 2AQ for an application to vary the premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 to permit the following: To extend the hours the premises is permitted to play recorded music by 30 mins Monday – Sunday. The new hours are as follows:

Recorded Music: Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 01:00 (currently 00:30). Sunday 10:00 – 00:00 (currently 23:30)

The following condition will be removed: "2. A "wind down" period will be promoted by ending regulated live and/or recorded music prior to the end of alcohol sales, the provision of late night refreshment and the drinking up period." .

All other hours, activities and conditions are to remain unchanged by this application.

A copy of this application may be inspected on the licensing register at Causeway House, Braintree from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Consultation end date: 21 August 2026
