What is proposed?

Notice of Application to Vary a Premises Licence Under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003

Notice is hereby given that Mitchells & Butlers Leisure Retail Limited in respect of Premises known as The Anson, Station Road, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear, NE28 8QS has applied to North Tyneside Council for a Variation of a Premises Licence.

The proposed variation is to extend the hours for the Supply of alcohol Hours (for consumption on and off the premises), provision of Live Music (Indoors), Recorded Music (Indoors), Entertainment of a Similar description to live music etc (Indoors) to Sunday to Wednesday 0900- Midnight, Thursday to Saturday 0900-0100 the following morning & New Years Eve, New Years Day & Boxing Day 0900-0100 the following morning and to extend the provision of Late Night Refreshment (Indoors) Sunday to Wednesday 2300- Midnight, Thursday to Saturday 2300- 0100 the following morning & New Years Eve, New Years Day & Boxing Day 2300-0100 the following morning.

Add an additional hour to the non-standard times on the day when British Summertime commences. Opening hours will terminate 30 minutes after the end of the licensable activities.

To also remove conditions under Annex 2 from the premises licence that are old and obsolete and add a number of conditions that are more relevant to the operation of the premises. Full details of which can be viewed on the application form.

Any representations regarding the above-mentioned application must be received in writing by, The Licensing Section, North Tyneside Council, The Killingworth Site, Harvey Combe, Killingworth, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 6UB no later than 4th August 2026 stating the grounds for representation.

The register of North Tyneside Council and the record of the application may be inspected at the address of the council, given above, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm or on the council’s website – northtyneside.gov.uk

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. A person is liable to an unlimited fine on conviction should such a false statement be made.
