Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water Renaker Build Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from alluvium and sandstone from points at Trinity Islands Building C1 & C2 in the area bounded by National Grid References (NGRs) SJ 82838 97904, SJ 82874 97857, SJ 82772 97785 and SJ 82760 97852. The water will be transferred to the River Irwell at National Grid Reference SJ 82814 97885, without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 360 cubic metres an hour • 8,640 cubic metres a day
• 3,153,600 cubic metres a year.

Abstraction will take place over a 18-month period, for the purpose of construction dewatering. All water abstracted will be returned to the River Irwell.
