Application for the Grant of a Premises Licence

Given that Ruksana Ahmed has applied to Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council for the grant of a Premises Licence in respect of the premises known as:
Viceroy Brighouse Restaurant Ltd, 6 Huddersfield Road, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, HD6 1JZ
The premises will operate as a two-storey Indian restaurant providing dine-in, takeaway and delivery services, together with the sale of alcohol and recorded background music.
The application seeks to permit the following licensable activities:
Sale of Alcohol (On and Off Sales)
• Monday to Thursday: 16:00 – 01:00
• Friday and Saturday: 16:00 – 02:00
• Sunday: 16:00 – 01:00
Late Night Refreshment
• Monday to Sunday: 23:00 – 01:00
Opening Hours
• Monday to Thursday: 16:00 – 01:00
• Friday and Saturday: 16:00 – 02:00
• Sunday: 16:00 – 01:00
Recorded Music (Indoors Only)
• Monday to Sunday: 16:00 – 01:00
During the festive period, the sale of alcohol, recorded music, late night refreshment and opening hours may vary as follows:
• Christmas Eve: 10:00 – 01:00
• Christmas Day: 12:00 – 23:00
• Boxing Day: 10:00 – 00:00
• New Year’s Eve: 10:00 – 02:00
• New Year’s Day: 12:00 – 00:00
The Licensing Register containing details of the application may be inspected at the offices of the Licensing Authority during normal office hours.
Any person wishing to make representations regarding this application must submit them in writing to:
Licensing Service, Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Halifax, HX1 1UJ
Representations must be received no later than 14 June 2026.
It is an offence under Section 158 of the Licensing Act 2003 knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. A person guilty of such an offence is liable on summary conviction to an unlimited fine.
