NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT/VARIATION OF A PREMISES LICENCE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an application has been made to the licensing authority of Portsmouth City Council for the grant of a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003. Details of the application are as follows:
Name of Applicant: Wine Vaults (Portsmouth)
Postal address of premises: 87-89 Elm Grove, Portsmouth, PO5 1JF
Description of the licensable activities that will be carried on or from the above premises or the nature of the proposed variation to those current activities: 87 Elm Grove currently operates as a public house, this new license application seeks to incorporate the shop next door 89 Elm Grove into the premises.

10:00 - 00.00 Monday – Saturday
10:00 - 23.00 Sunday
Opening hours:
10:00 - 00.30 Monday – Saturday

Any responsible authority, or any other person wishing to make representations on this matter must submit those representations in writing to the Licensing Manager, Licensing Service, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2AL by no later than 27th May 2026. Written representations may also be made by email to:

Any relevant representations should include a name and address and will be deemed public documents, will be forwarded to the licence holder and will be considered by the licensing authority. All relevant representations will be available for public inspection and also published on the council's website.
It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and, on summary conviction for the offence, a person is liable to a fine of any amount.
