Notice of Application for the Transfer of a Licence

TAKE NOTICE that MONICA GERALDINE HENDERSON of 29 Laurelhill Road, Coleraine, County Londonderry BT51 3AY (the Applicant) intends to apply to the Magistrate’s Court sitting at The Courthouse, Mountsandel Road, Coleraine, County Londonderry on the 20th day of February 2026 for the transfer to the Applicant of the Licence at present held by Farnmore Investments Limited of 19 Farrenlester Road, Coleraine, County Londonderry for the premises situate at 8 Captain Street Lower, Coleraine, County Londonderry known as “The Captains Bar”” being premises of the following kind according to the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996, namely premises specified in Article 5(1)(a) being premises in which the business carried on under the Licence is the business of selling intoxicating liquor by retail for consumption either in or off the premises.
FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Applicant intends to apply at the application for the licence for an order for additional hours as specified in Article 44 of the said Order, namely weekdays from 11.00pm to 1.00am the next day following and on Sundays from 10.00pm to 1.00 am the next day, and on Sunday being 31st December from 10.00pm to 1.00 am the next day following be included in the permitted hours for the part[s] of the premises delineated on the said plan on the grounds that the said part[s] of the premises are:-
(a) structurally adapted and used, or intended to be used, for the purpose of habitually provided, for the accommodation of persons frequenting the premises:
(i) musical or other entertainment; or
(ii) substantial refreshment in the form of a main table meal at midday or in the evening or both
(iii) both such entertainment and refreshment; and
(b) the sale of intoxicating liquor ancillary to that entertainment or refreshment
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that any person owning, residing or carrying on business in premises in the vicinity of the premises for which the licence is sought must in accordance with paragraph 6 of Schedule 1 to the Order serve notice of his intention to object upon the applicant (at their solicitor’s address if required) and the Chief Clerk not less than one week before the opening of the court sitting specified herein. The permissible grounds of objection are as specified in Article 44 (1) and (3) namely suitability and undue inconvenience to residents.
The Applicant is the owner of the business to be carried out under the Licence.
Farnmore Investments Limited is the owner of the
premises.
The Licence will be deposited with the Clerk of Petty Sessions before or at the hearing of the application.
