What is proposed?

Notice of application to vary a Premises Licence under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003

Notice is hereby given that Voodoo Doll Limited in respect of premises known as Mojo, Unit 6, The Gate, Newgate Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5TG, applied to Newcastle City Council for a Variation of a Premises Licence.

The proposed variation is to remove redundant and outdated conditions which do nothing to promote the licensing objectives as prompted by the Licensing Officers on the recent compliance audit at the venue.

The conditions we seek to remove are as follows: Condition 4 which reads “A substantial food offering will be available until at least one hour before the cessation of sale of alcohol”.

Condition 17 which reads “There will be no specific trading hours/evenings when alcohol is discounted and used as a vehicle to attract customers”.

Condition 21 which reads “On any day when the premises are operating the terminal hour for access to the premises will be one hour before the terminal hour for the sale and supply of alcohol”.

Condition 22 which reads “The premises will be only trade as MOJO by the company Voodoo Doll Limited”.

Anyone who wishes to make representations regarding this application for variation must give notice in writing to:- Licensing Authority, Newcastle City Council, Public Safety and Regulation, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH, or by email to licensing@newcastle.gov.uk.

Representations must be received by 24 December 2025.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. The maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is unlimited.
