St Martin's Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving
What is proposed?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ST MARTIN'S ROAD, MARPLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at St Martin's Road, Marple, at the junction of Station Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow highway improvement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 8 weeks. The following diversions will be provided: Diversion 1: Oldknow Road, Stockport Road, Hollins Lane, Station Road, and vice versa. Diversion 2: Oldknow Road, Arkwright Road, Station Road, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Order will come into operation on 5 January 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
