What is proposed?

Licensing Act 2003 Application for a New Premises Licence - The Guildford Institute

Notice is hereby given that The Guildford Institute has applied to Guildford Borough Council for the grant of a Premises Licence authorising the licensable activities detailed below:

Monday - Sunday, 9am to 11pm for: exhibition of films (indoors), performance of live music (indoors), playing of recorded music (indoors). And Monday - Sunday, 11am to 11pm for the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption on the premises.

This is for the premises The Guildford Institute situated at: The Guildford Institute, Ward Street, Guildford, GU1 4LH.

A register of licensing applications can be inspected at the Licensing Unit, the Council Offices, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday or on our website at www.guildford.gov.uk/la03applications.

Any person wishing to submit representations to this application must give notice in writing to the Council address shown above, or by e-mail to: licensing@guildford.gov.uk giving in detail the grounds of objection by 23/10/2025.

The Council will not entertain representations where the writer requests that his identity remains anonymous.

Copies of all representations will be included in the papers presented to the Licensing Committee and will therefore pass into the public domain. Representations must relate to one or more of the four Licensing Objectives: the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

It Is An Offence, Liable On Conviction To A Fine Of Up To Level 5 On The Standard Scale (Currently £5000) Under Section 158 Of The Licensing Act 2003 To Knowingly Or Recklessly Make A False Statement In Connection With This Application.
