What is proposed?

Notice is hereby given that Miss Matilda Phillips of 1 The Granary, Stone Street, Petham, Canterbury CT4 5PW.

Has applied to Canterbury City Council for the GRANT of the Sale of Alcohol for consumption on and off the premises.

The activities will include tours and tasting of the vineyard. The tours and tastings will be for groups no larger than 15 people.

The proposed hours for sale of alcohol are: Thursdays and Fridays 15:00 - 20:00 and Saturdays 12:00 - 20:00.

The proposed hours in which the premises would be open to the public are Thursdays and Fridays 15:00 - 20:30 and Saturdays 12:00 - 20:30. No more than one tour would run at one time and there would only be one tour every three hours for the premises Gorsley Vineyard situated at Gorsley House, Pett Bottom, Canterbury, Kent, CT4 6EH.

Any person wishing to submit representations to my/our application must give notice in writing to the address shown above, giving in detail the ground of objection by 17/10/2025.

The Council will not entertain representations where the writer requests that his identity remains anonymous. Copies of all representations will be included in the papers presented to the Licensing Panel and will therefore pass into the public domain.

Representations must relate to one of the four Licensing Objectives: the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm. In the case of an application for a provisional statement, please note that representations will be restricted once a statement has been issued. It is an offence liable on conviction to an unlimited fine under Section158 of the Licensing Act 2003 to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with this application.
