What is proposed?

Notice of application to vary a Premises Licence under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003 

Notice is hereby given that Mitchells & Butlers Leisure Retail Limited in respect of Premises known as Gardeners Arms, 35 Cottingham Road, Hull, HU5 2PP applied to Hull City Council for a Variation of a Premises Licence. 

The proposed variation is: 

1. To vary the layout of the premises in accordance with plans supplied by the applicant to include internal alterations and creation of new external garden with outside bar. Such variation to have effect upon the completion of the works as notified to the Licensing Authority in writing. Permitted hours and licensable activities remain as existing. 

2. To add a condition to the Premises Licence that the sale of alcohol from the external bar will only take place Mondays to Sundays 10:00 to 22:00 hours. 

3. To remove a condition of the Premises Licence regarding occupancy figures as this is now covered by other legislation

Any representations regarding the above-mentioned application must be received in writing by, Licensing Section, Hull City Council, 33 Witham, Hull, HU9 1DB or via email to liquor@hullcc.gov.uk no later than 6 October 2025 stating the grounds for representation. 

The register of Hull City Council and the record of the application may be inspected at the address of the council, given above, during normal business hours or on the council’s website www.hull.gov.uk 

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. A person is liable to an unlimited fine on conviction should such a false statement be made.
