What is proposed?
NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A PREMISES LICENCE UNDER THE GAMBLING ACT 2005
Notice if hereby given that: BALLY’S (NEWCASTLE) LIMITED, Colegrave House, 70 Berners Street, London W1T 3NL is applying under section 187 of the Gambling Act 2005 to vary a premises licence issued under that Act.
The application relates to the following premises: Bally’s Casino, The Gate, Newgate Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5TG
The application to vary the licence as follows: This variation application is for the approval of revised premises licence plans accompanying the application that reflect proposed modifications to designated gambling areas, plus delineate table gaming and non-gambling areas, enabling the casino to operate effectively as an extended Converted Casino Premises under new legislation.
It also seeks approval for minor adjustments to construction plans recently approved under its last variation application as follows:
-previously proposed external terrace on Floor 1 has been withdrawn;
-proposed removal of external wall on Stowell Street’s façade and service bar on Floor 1, initially intended to form the external terrace, will not proceed and is reinstated on the plans; and
-minor adjustments to the back-of-house Comms Room and modest extension to two bar areas, with one configured to include a sports betting desk.
The application has been made to Newcastle City Council, Licensing Authority, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH

Any of the following persons may make representations in writing to the licensing authority about the application;
• A person who lives sufficiently close to the premises to be likely to be affected by the authorised activities
• A person who has business interests that might be affected by the authorised activities
• A person who represents someone in any of the above two categories
Any representations must be made by the following date: 18 September 2025
It is an offence under section 342 of the Gambling Act 2005 if a person, without reasonable excuse, gives to a licensing authority for a purpose connected with that Act information which is false or misleading.
