What is proposed?
Notice of application to vary a Premises Licence under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003
Notice is hereby given that St Austell Brewery Company Ltd in respect of Premises known as Royal Castle Hotel, 11 The Quay, Dartmouth, Devon, TQ6 9PS applied to South Hams District Council for a Variation of a Premises Licence.
The proposed variation is to approve internal alterations at the premises to include the addition of minibars in the bedrooms; slight reconfiguration of the ground floor area and the addition of private dining rooms and check-in lounge on the first floors; also to update the conditions to remove, amend or replace those outdated conditions or those covered under separate legislation or mandatory conditions. There are no changes to the existing licensable activities and hours other than the sale of alcohol permitted 24 hours a day for residents and their bona fide guests and the removal of some non-standard timings no longer required under Live and Recorded Music.
Any representations regarding the above-mentioned application must be received in writing by post to The Licensing Department, South Hams District Council, Follaton House, Plymouth Road, Totnes, TQ9 5NE or by email to licensing@swdevon.gov.uk no later than 22nd August 2025 stating the grounds for representation.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. A person is liable to an unlimited fine on conviction should such a false statement be made.
