What is proposed?

ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Land Drainage Improvement Works (Amended) Regulations 1999 SI 1999/1783

Higher Brixham – Culvert Repair 
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out culvert repair works on a culvert that runs from Rowan Way to the Harbour, circa 2km. Approximate culvert alignment SX 91003 5446, SX 92376 55554, SX 92445 55998 to SX 92562 56235. 

The proposed works will involve the following: 
• Culvert lining (no excavations required);
• Patch repairs (no excavations required);

The Environment Agency considers that the works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Schedule 2 criteria have been considered and the works are of small scale and not in an environmentally sensitive area. No significant adverse effects have been identified. Any minor effects will be managed and mitigation implemented. The impacts of the works are considered minor even without mitigation.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
