What is proposed?
Notice of Application to Vary a Premises Licence made under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003
An application has been made by: Gibeon Restaurants Limited to: Lewisham Council, as the Licensing Authority, for the grant of a Premises Licence Variation, at: The Fat Walrus, 44 Lewisham Way, London, SE14 6NP.
The proposed variations are: Extension of existing hours for licensable activities:
Sale by Retail of Alcohol: 00:00 – 01:30 Sun – Thur, 00:30 – 02:30 Fri – Sat.
Live Music and Recorded Music: 00:00 – 01:30 Sun – Thur, 00:30 – 02:30 Fri – Sat.
Late Night Refreshment: 00:30 – 01:30 Mon – Thur, 01:30 – 02:30 Fri, 02:00 – 02:30 Sat, 01:00 – 01:30 Sun.
Additional variations: The premises plan to be updated to remove the conservatory, include fire-safety and CCTV equipment, and delineate the areas used for licensable activities.
The use of both the front forecourt and rear beer garden to be limited to 12:00 to 23:00 hours Sun to Thur, and 12:00 to 23:30 hours Fri and Sat.
Addition and removal of operating conditions from Annexes 2 and 3 of the licence,
Opening hours: 11:00 – 02:00 Mon – Thur; 11:00 – 03:00 Fri – Sat; 12:00 – 02:00 Sun.
The application may be viewed at Lewisham Council, Safer Communities Service, 9 Holbeach Road, London, SE6 4TW by appointment between 09:00 – 16:00 Mon to Fri (except on public holidays); or at www.lewisham.gov.uk.
Responsible Authorities or any other person may make representations regarding the application to the licensing authority by emailing licensing@lewisham.gov.uk.
Representations must be made in writing and must be received on or before 2nd July 2025.
It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction is unlimited.
