LICENSING (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1996 (Article 22, Schedule 5, paras 1 and 2)
What is proposed?
TAKE NOTICE that we, Banbridge Hotels Ltd having its registered office at 45 Barrack Hill, Banbridge, Co Down, Co Down, BT32 4HE intend at the Magistrates Court sitting at The Courthouse, 23 New Street, Newry, CoDown, BT35 6JD on 10 th June 2025 at 10.00am to apply for the transfer to us of a licence at present held by Belmont Hospitality Limited of 13 Ewing Street Londonderry, BT48 6ST for the premises at The Belmont Hotel, Rathfriland Road, Banbridge being premises of the following kind according to the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996
A protection order authorising Banbridge Hotels Ltd of 45 Barrack Hill, Banbridge, Co Down, Co Down, BT32 4HE to carry on business under the licence was granted on 17th April 2025 by the Magistrates Court sitting at The Courthouse, 23 New Street, Newry, Co Down, BT35 6JD for the period of six months from the date of the order.
The following body corporate owns the business carried on under the Licence-
Banbridge Hotels Ltd being a limited liability company of which the following persons are the directors-
James Russell, Jane Charlotte Pearl Russell and Walter James Russell all of 45 Barrack Hill, Banbridge, Co Down, Co Down, BT32 4HE.
And the following are the executive controllers - none
The owner of the premises is Banbridge Hotels Ltd having its registered office at 45 Barrack Hill, Banbridge, Co Down, Co Down, BT32 4HE
The licence will be deposited with the clerk of petty sessions before or at the hearing of the application.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that any person owning or residing or carrying on business in the vicinity of the licensed premises who intends to object to the transfer of the Licence must in accordance with paragraph 4 of Schedule 5 to the Licensing Order of 1996 serve notice of his intention to object upon the applicant and the Clerk of Petty Sessions not less than one week before the before the time of the Court sitting specified in this Notice.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the permissible grounds of objection are such as are specified in Article 22 (6) of the said Order of 1996 namely:-
(a) The procedure relating to the Application set out in Schedule 5 of the said Order of 1996 has not been complied with
(b) That the Applicant is not a fit person to hold a Licence
(c) That the business carried on the premises has been discontinued
