Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water

McLaughlin & Harvey Construction Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from alluvium and Pennine Middle Coal Measures at Forgemasters, Brightside Lane, Sheffield, from an area formed by straight lines between National Grid References: SK 38525 90461, SK 38766 90561, SK 38943 90215 and SK 38708 90115.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 90 cubic metres an hour

• 2,160 cubic metres a day

• 788,400 cubic metres a year.

The water will be used for dewatering.

Further details are: all water will be discharged to a sewer at National Grid Reference SK 38824 90407.
