NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A PREMISES LICENCE

PREMISES Bally’s Casino, Units 1, 12 and 13, The Gate, Newgate Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5TG

Notice is given that Bally’s (Newcastle) Limited applied to Newcastle City Council on 2 May 2025 to vary a Premises Licence under the Licensing Act 2003, as follows:- Bally’s (Newcastle) Limited is seeking a license variation for proposed plans to create a new external terrace on the first floor of the premises. These plans involve re moving a service bar, plus a section of the high-level external wall on the building’s façade on Stowell Street to form the external terrace, with vertical powder-coated aluminium fins to be installed in the newly created opening.

Additionally, plans include a new canopy at the casino entrance on Stowell Street, featuring stainless-steel arms, a toughened safety glass lid, and stainless-steel drainage.

Internal refurbishments will include the creation of two new reception areas and cloakrooms; one situated on the ground floor at the casino entrance on Stowell Street, and the other on the first floor at the casino entrance via The Gate Shopping Centre. In addition, the internal refurbishments include the removal of 1 service bar which will be replaced by the external terrace, plus an extension of two of the current service bars and introduction of a small service bar.

Anyone who wishes to make representations regarding this application for variation must give notice in writing to:- Licensing Authority, Newcastle City Council, Public Safety and Regulation, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8QH

Representations must be received by 30 May 2025

It is an offence under Section 158 of the Licensing Act 2003, knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is up to level 5 on the standard scale(£5000)
